Docking terminals are assigned based on the type and size of the vessel. It’s recommended to fly into Fort Lauderdale over Miami as travel time is shorter from the airport to Port Everglades. If your flight options are much better to Miami over Fort Lauderdale, though, flying into Miami may be a better option.

Port Everglades Terminal Information: Cruise Line by Cruise Line
This hotel is best for those with a flight arriving late in the evening. There are not a ton of options near the hotel for dining and activities and the hotel is not in the most walkable environment. Hotel amenities at the Crowne Plaza include an outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, and outdoor patio. The hotel also has an on-site restaurant, Kiki’s Restaurant, serving contemporary Latin and American fare. Hotel amenities include a fitness center, outdoor pool, free wi-fi, convenience store, and an on-site bar and restaurant. The restaurant, Radiant 166, features an international menu with its own list of signature drinks.

Although the location is slightly further from Port Everglades, the cruise port is still easily accessible from this high-end neighborhood. Home to outstanding resorts with easy beach access and the Hollywood Boardwalk, the area also has excellent restaurants and a lively nightlife. A popular choice is the family friend resort Margaritaville at Hollywood Beach. Other options include the Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. Like other hotels in close proximity to the airport and cruise port, the Holiday Inn won’t offer a luxurious resort experience.

One of oddest things you’ll notice on your cruise is that everyone can’t wait to board the ship when you depart, but are just as eager to get off the ship when it gets back home. If you are assigned a check-in time, then you should aim to arrive at that time. As you approach the port, you’ll see the signs for the passenger drop-off and pick-up areas. As home to Celebrity — and the fleet’s most modern ships — Port Everglades has a sleek terminal to go along with those vessels.

As you will likely arrive tired from a late flight, staying in an exciting neighborhood isn’t totally necessary. Dania Beach and Edgewood are two Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods close to the airport and Port Everglades, each with a variety of hotel options. They stop at 14 points of interest, including The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale and the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. You can hop on and off throughout the day and water taxis run every 25 to 35 minutes. There’s an all day pass, evening and multi-day pass available for purchase. The All Day Pass is valid between 10AM-10PM on the Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood Express Route and costs $40 for adults, and $35 for seniors and members of the military.
Port Everglades offers secure, well-lit parking in two garages and three gated surface lots with patrols. You can park your car within walking distance of nearly all the terminals. Cruise terminals 2 and 4 share the 2,500-space Northport Garage, though a new 1,888-space parking garage is under construction to serve both terminals. Terminals 18 and 19 each have their own surface lots named after them; the Terminal 19 Parking Lot is shared between the two. Hotel ShuttlesIf you plan to stay in a hotel the night before your cruise, then look for a hotel that offers a shuttle to the cruise port.
